Role Overview: As a Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor at Canon U.S.A., Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s global supply chain operations comply with all customs regulations and trade laws. You will provide expert guidance on import/export compliance, helping to mitigate risks and optimize logistics processes. What You'll Do: - You will monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. customs regulations and international trade laws. - You will advise internal teams on customs documentation, classification, and valuation to facilitate smooth import/export operations. - You will collaborate with logistics, legal, and procurement departments to develop and implement trade compliance strategies. - You will conduct audits and assessments to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions. - You will stay updated on changes in trade regulations and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders. - You will support the resolution of customs-related issues and disputes with government agencies. - You will assist in training employees on customs and trade compliance policies and procedures. What You Bring: - You have at least 5 years of experience in customs compliance, trade regulations, or logistics. - You possess strong knowledge of U.S. customs laws, import/export regulations, and international trade agreements. - You have experience with customs brokerage and classification of goods. - You demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - You have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. - You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in the technology or electronics industry. - Certification such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES). - Familiarity with global trade management software and ERP systems. - Multilingual abilities or experience working in a multinational corporate environment.
