Role Overview: As a Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor at Canon U.S.A., Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring that all import and export activities comply with U.S. and international trade regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage customs processes, mitigate risks, and support the company’s global supply chain operations. What You'll Do: - You will ensure compliance with all applicable customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements. - You will manage import and export documentation and filings to facilitate smooth customs clearance. - You will conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks. - You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve customs and trade compliance issues. - You will stay updated on changes in trade regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments. - You will support training initiatives to enhance awareness of customs and trade compliance across the organization. - You will assist in developing and implementing customs compliance policies and procedures. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs compliance, trade regulations, or logistics. - Strong knowledge of U.S. customs laws, import/export regulations, and international trade compliance. - Experience with customs brokerage, tariff classification, and trade documentation. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with trade compliance software. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or similar professional certification. - Experience working in a multinational corporation or in the technology sector. - Familiarity with global trade agreements and Free Trade Zones. - Knowledge of export control regulations such as ITAR or EAR.
