Role Overview: As a Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor at Canon U.S.A., Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring that all import and export activities comply with U.S. and international trade regulations. You will support the logistics and supply chain teams by providing expert guidance on customs laws, trade compliance policies, and risk management. What You'll Do: - You will manage and oversee customs compliance processes to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. - You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth import/export operations. - You will conduct audits and assessments to identify and mitigate trade compliance risks. - You will develop and implement training programs to educate employees on customs and trade compliance requirements. - You will monitor changes in trade regulations and update company policies accordingly. - You will prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory agencies. - You will support investigations and resolve compliance issues as they arise. - You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain compliance framework. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs compliance, trade regulations, or related logistics roles. - Strong knowledge of U.S. customs laws, import/export regulations, and international trade agreements. - Experience with customs brokerage, classification, valuation, and tariff schedules. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally. - Proficiency in compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or similar professional certification. - Experience working in a multinational corporation or in the technology sector. - Familiarity with global trade management systems and ERP software. - Knowledge of export control regulations such as ITAR and EAR.
