Role Overview: As a Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor based in Melville, NY, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Canon's supply chain operations comply with all applicable customs and trade regulations. You will provide expert guidance to mitigate risks and support efficient global trade activities. What You'll Do: - You will monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. and international customs laws and trade regulations. - You will advise internal teams on import/export requirements and documentation. - You will collaborate with logistics partners and government agencies to resolve compliance issues. - You will conduct audits and assessments to identify and mitigate trade compliance risks. - You will develop and implement policies and procedures related to customs and trade compliance. - You will stay current on changes in trade laws and regulations to advise the business proactively. - You will support training initiatives to enhance compliance awareness across the organization. What You Bring: - You have at least 3 years of experience in customs and trade compliance or related logistics roles. - You possess strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade compliance. - You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - You demonstrate effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and external agencies. - You are detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a multinational corporation or in the technology sector. - Certification such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES). - Familiarity with trade compliance software and systems. - Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements and tariff classification.
