Role Overview: As a Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Canon’s supply chain operations comply with all applicable customs and trade regulations. You will provide expert guidance to support global logistics and mitigate risks associated with international trade. What You'll Do: - You will monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations and trade laws. - You will advise internal teams on import/export requirements and documentation. - You will collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth customs clearance. - You will conduct audits and assessments to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions. - You will develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures. - You will stay updated on changes in trade regulations and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders. - You will support training initiatives to enhance compliance awareness across the organization. - You will assist in managing trade compliance records and reporting requirements. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs and trade compliance within a multinational corporation. - Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade agreements. - Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams. - Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification. - Experience with SAP GTS or other global trade management systems. - Knowledge of trade compliance in the technology or electronics industry. - Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or Mandarin.
