About the Role We are looking for the right candidate to join our accounting team as Intermediate Accountant, Corporate and Treasury. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will work with the Corporate accounting team, our bankers, and various third-party vendors. This is a key role that supports our accounting and finance teams across North America while planning and / or executing various responsibilities including Treasury functions, the financial close process, intercompany reconciliations, Corporate accounts payable, and high-visibility special projects. This position will be in the office three days per week with remote work two days per week at the outset. In office / remote work structure is subject to change at the company’s discretion. Key Responsibilities · Treasury planning and oversight supporting 50+ operating companies and the corporate office including user management, escalation approval, and ad hoc inquiries · Prepare and / or review financial statements for corporate office companies, property companies, and holding companies · Review accounts payable transactions and key account reconciliations · Collaborate within the accounting and finance community as well as other functions to provide recommendations on accounting treatment and resolve issues · Champion the quarterly intercompany reconciliation and elimination process · Support the global consolidation process · Support various aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including reviewing various types of operating company working papers · Assist with control testing related to revenue recognition, inventory, warranties, and other key balance sheet accounts · Assist with various special projects including software implementations • Perform other tasks and participate in other initiatives on an ad hoc basis Skills and Qualities · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Demonstrated attention to detail / accuracy, ability to effectively multi-task, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines · Strong oral and written communication skills with a positive outlook / customer service mentality · Proactive approach to process improvement and technology implementation; Embracing the opportunity to challenge the status quo to make things better · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytical skills · Proficiency with an ERP / GL system (Epicor Kinetic experience is an asset) Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or commensurate work experience · Professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) or active pursuit of CPA designation · 3+ years of progressive accounting experience ideally in a multi-entity environment and / or in a manufacturing company · Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting controls · Highly collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team, and the ability to influence others · High integrity · Experience in a multi-currency cross-border (Canada and US) treasury management environment is an asset Consideration will be given to those applicants with the legal ability to work in Canada.
