JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Head of PMO, the PMO Lead is responsible for all aspects of the operational activities in the PMO, working with the team, coordinating activities, managing PMO initiatives and providing support, education and training as needed. Role may also include leading small-scale projects or work packages. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee the Master Project Portfolio, capturing updates, monitoring progress against the plan and escalating issues or concerns immediately • Perform resource availability management of project staff, including monitoring and analyzing resource assignments to ensure best use of resources • Prepare and distribute portfolio reporting and metrics to senior executives • Manage end to end process for new business initiatives • Conduct training on the process and templates published by the PMO • Provide staff support to ensure standards are implemented across the organization • Ongoing management of the PMO site, including repository of templates • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency through new processes, tools, automation, etc. • Lead and deliver small scale projects or work packages, ensuring deliverables meet standards for quality, scope and schedule • Work on PMO initiatives including: the rollout of tools; development and rollout of key templates, processes and metrics • Facilitate meetings with the business areas ensuring ongoing communication, assessment of opportunities for improvements and resolution of challenges or issues in a timely manner QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience • Post-Secondary degree • 2-4 years of experience in a project environment, preferably in financial services • Solid experience with PMO best practices, tools and processes • Experience managing small scale projects or work packages Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of the project lifecycle and different methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word, Visio, Project, SharePoint/Teams) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations skills • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills • Strong organizational skills • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Conceptual thinker, creative thinker and analytical thinker • Ability to work successfully under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Ability to learn new concepts and to learn from experience Key Qualities for Success • Self-motivated, strong initiative and deadline-driven. • Highly attentive to detail and committed to quality. • Enthusiastic, service-oriented.
