We are a small, dynamic new media company that does things a little differently. We look for team members who thrive on new challenges and who want to be part of a cutting-edge company experiencing exponential growth. OVERVIEW: Join our team as a Senior Editor and Writer. We're looking for experienced writers who want a career where you can be both creative and organized. Ideal candidates will love working closely with a team both in leading and in "getting your hands dirty". You’re interested in challenging the norm and striving to create work that’s valuable and useful to the consumer as well as innovative and compelling in its own right. You can see the big picture, but you understand that it’s the efficient completion of individual tasks that will get you there. Oh, and you’re pretty addicted to the Disney Theme Parks PRIMARY TASKS • Manage existing projects and relevant staff • Establish scope, specifications, and feasibility for upcoming projects • Create and maintain timelines for multiple simultaneous projects • Work with writers and media developers to conceive and develop compelling written, video, and audio content • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project kick-offs, check-ins, internal handoffs, and final deliveries • Manage internal and external resources and communication to ensure milestones are met on a day-to-day basis, communicating schedule and creative scope changes to ensure consistent team alignment • Track project progress and communicate status to stakeholders • Manage and motivate a variety of team members • Build and foster internal relationships through effective communication and management of expectations SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's Degree, preferred • Proficient in non-fiction writing/journalism, including grammar and editing • Experience coordinating individual staff and teams • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills • Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously • Superior communication skills • Disney Theme Parks experience and knowledge TO APPLY: A complete application should include: • Resume • Cover letter • Writing samples or links to your portfolio (ideally, these should showcase your voice and Disney knowledge) Submit all of these requirements to cambrickyardjobs@gmail.com
