The Freelance Graphic Designer – Brand Projects partners closely with the Brand Marketing and Creative teams to design and deliver visually compelling materials that align with CALPAK's brand guidelines and bring the brand identity to life across all brand marketing touchpoints. This role focuses exclusively on brand projects, including but not limited to social media graphics, branded seeding kits and mailers, event signage, and other creative assets that support marketing initiatives, collaborations, and brand activations. The ideal designer is passionate about storytelling through design, understands CALPAK’s brand voice and visual language, and is able to translate creative briefs into elevated, on-brand visuals that drive awareness, engagement, and consistency across every consumer touchpoint. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and the ability to balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Develop, design, and execute creative assets across a variety of mediums — including social media graphics, influencer seeding kits, mailers, packaging inserts, event signage, and printed collateral. Translate design requests and brand objectives into compelling visual narratives aligned with CALPAK’s tone, style, and aesthetics. Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to design and execute assets that support partnerships, events and activations, product launches, signage and environmental visuals, and seasonal campaigns. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept through delivery, ensuring all assets meet deadlines and brand standards. Prepare production-ready files for print and digital vendors; review proofs and samples to ensure quality and accuracy. Support the visual execution of influencer and gifting mailers by designing unique, elevated packaging elements and inserts that reflect CALPAK’s storytelling and brand personality. Maintain organized design files and documentation, ensuring easy access for all involved stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted. 3–5 years of professional design experience, ideally within a consumer brand, fashion, or lifestyle company (agency or in-house). Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma; knowledge of After Effects or motion graphics a plus. Strong understanding of typography, layout, and color theory. Portfolio demonstrating experience with social media graphics, print packaging, and brand identity projects. Additional experience translating brand design to email and ads is a plus. Highly organized with excellent time management skills; able to juggle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain visual consistency and uphold brand standards. Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining open communication with the broader team. Work Hours / Flexibility Freelance / contract-based role with variable weekly hours depending on project volume. Availability during standard business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm PT) for check-ins and feedback sessions. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for time-sensitive campaign launches or events.
