Job Summary: Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of consultative and analytical assignments in support of Public Safety Communications (PSC) and its client radio communication systems, installation and repair work and general business operations in relation to equipment purchasing and storage. Effective January 1, 2026, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) will change the classification name of Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) to Analyst II. The probationary period will be 12 months for all new appointments with a start date after this change is implemented. This is not considered a hybrid telework position. Cal OES provides training to enhance the understanding of emergency and incident management to all employees. The Public Safety Communications (PSC) Technical Services Branch provides a variety of services to PSC and the public safety agencies it serves. The Branch oversees the California Public Safety Microwave Network (CAPSNET), licensing of public safety radio spectrum with the FCC, and a host of ancillary services that support PSC’s service delivery. In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
