1-2 years related experience or equivalent education, valid driver's license, forklift certification, and ability to perform physical maintenance tasks.
About the Role: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs, and custodial tasks within the facility. This role requires strong teamwork and collaboration with department associates to ensure a functional and safe environment. Key Areas of Responsibility: • Promptly address and prioritize requests from team members, demonstrating sound judgment and leadership while representing the department. Ensure timely completion of tasks and actively participate in team meetings. • Conduct regular inspections of building interiors and exteriors to identify maintenance and repair needs. Perform cleaning of machining equipment using appropriate solvents, cloths, vacuums, and other equipment. • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to proactively address any needed repairs. • Execute electrical maintenance tasks, including replacing and repairing electrical fixtures, as well as plumbing maintenance, such as fixing leaking faucets. • Coordinate with external contractors, including electricians and plumbers, for both routine and emergency repairs, showcasing leadership and sound decision-making. • Install modular offices to accommodate personnel. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of office furniture. • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of hand, power, and specialty tools. • Manage inventory of machine parts and supplies, and procure necessary hardware, tools, and other supplies within budgetary guidelines. • During winter, clear snow and apply salt to facility entrances and exits to ensure safety. • Act as a vital contributor to the Safety Committee, promoting a safe working environment for the entire team. • Promote and reinforce safe work practices throughout the company, providing updates and training to associates as needed. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within facilities maintenance. • Operate forklift safely and efficiently. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements. • Support the company's mission and values, embodying them in daily activities. • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall needs of the company. Job Requirements: • Possess one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Hold a valid driver’s license. • Maintain forklift certification. Work Environment: The role may involve occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, proximity to moving mechanical parts, work in elevated areas, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Physical Requirements: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee may occasionally be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
