About the Role: Caliber is looking for a PR enthusiast to join our team as a Director. Caliber Directors play a key role in media relations and writing other professional communications in our industries of focus - financial services, fintech, insurtech and proptech. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 base salary + commission opportunities + bonuses + benefits. About your responsibilities: Provide senior-level account planning and supervision across key designated accounts with proven, specialized expertise in areas Caliber operates. • The number of accounts will vary based on other aspects, with the range between 4-6 clients. • Lead the planning and execution of media programs and activities; serve as a primary, day-to-day, client contact and provide senior client counsel on tactical matters linked to strategic plans for select accounts; anticipate client needs and prepare in advance. • Maintain a thorough, demonstrated understanding of clients’ businesses and industries; actively follow and understand emerging issues, trends, and news impacting your clients’ business, and proactively advise the team and client regarding how best to leverage or address these developments. • Develop and maximize client relations, positioning Caliber as a strategic partner at all times; perceived as a trusted advisor to the client, maintaining close and regular client counsel. • Anticipate the needs of clients and the media, serving as a senior strategist for select accounts and the manager of all tasks to ensure quality service. • Provide mentorship, and structure around delegating to staff on a day-to-day basis; drive media results for clients, and ensure proactive daily media pitching, review materials drafted by staffers, and provide constructive feedback. • Manage up to manager, COO & CEO regarding progress on deliverables, media outreach processes, and actively offer solutions to pivot where needed. • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for the management and tracking of staff allocation and account financials including budget allocation and control. • Manage and evolve Caliber client retention and loyalty efforts, with a particular focus on PR clients, aiming to drive our retention efforts forward and set the example of best practices around retention for the team. • Provide strategic guidance on PR client account structure and staffing, working alongside the COO and CEO to ensure the right level of support across PR accounts. • Perform other duties as assigned. About our Ideal Candidate • 12+ years minimum relevant experience in PR, within B2B fintech, financial services, proptech and/or insurtech • Extensive client service experience and deep relationships with specific categories of higher level media (business, technology and/or) that result in significant coverage for clients • Intellectual curiosity about businesses and how communications plays a role in business’ growth • Enthusiasm for fintech and financial services and their constant innovation and evolution • Solutions oriented with a ‘can do’ attitude • Passionate about communications with polished presentation skills • Team player, supportive and considerate of others • A student of the media – identifying new publications, writers and relevant topics Caliber is an Equal Opportunity Employer Caliber Corporate Advisers is an Equal Opportunity Employer that is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
