Well, we are looking for an Engineering Manager who has a strong background in people management, technical execution, and the ability to help grow our organization. You will work directly with the Senior Manager of Engineering for our Platform Services Group, and will be focused on building a best-in-class scheduling experience that empowers our users to host better meetings. A day in the life of an Engineering Manager at Calendly As a Manager at Calendly, you have the chance to mentor and grow some of the best and brightest engineers in the world. This role will work alongside our Engineering and Product Management teams to make Calendly even simpler and more powerful for our user base. We are seeking a versatile technical leader who relishes the chance to work on impactful technology and can help accelerate and empower our development teams while helping us create the future of scheduling. We’re looking for someone with previous experience in SaaS and with cloud technology. On a typical day, you will be working on: Hiring engineers to build out both new and existing squads for the company, with oversight on all team members that get hired onto the squad Solving problems for our largest and most valuable customers Working on an initiative that is the growth engine for Calendly’s future success Coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new engineering team members Ensuring the career development, satisfaction, and productivity of the engineers on your team Identifying future technical needs and creating plans to meet them Providing feedback and guidance to help us continuously grow and scale What do we need from you? 2+ years experience managing a team of Software Engineers 5+ years of overall development experience (you will be specifically managing a team that owns services and using Golang and RoR) Deep proficiency with web application development and SaaS Experience planning and leading development efforts on large projects Previous experience leading and mentoring teams and driving them toward big goals with consistent execution Excellent communication skills, with the ability to succinctly explain deep technical concepts Experience leading Agile/Scrum ceremonies Previous experience working within a balanced engineering and product team Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time The ranges listed above are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change. Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity. Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Top Performer Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits. Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows: Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
