Cash Research Manager Remote: This is a fully remote opportunity (must be in CST time zone) Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (additional hours as needed) Contract: 6-month Contract-to-Hire (W2) Compensation: $105-115k/year Position Summary: The Cash Research Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the Cash Research team, ensuring accurate and timely posting of customer payments and payoffs, managing suspense funds, and resolving complex cash-related issues. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain compliance with servicing guidelines. The Manager will mentor and develop team members, manage escalations, and drive operational excellence across all cash research functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the Cash Research team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. • Oversee daily operations including payment posting, suspense fund monitoring, and reconciliation of cash and wire transactions. • Ensure timely resolution of complex payment issues, including default, bankruptcy, and non-standard transactions. • Collaborate with internal departments and senior leadership to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. • Monitor and analyze control reports, payment queues, and exception items to identify trends and implement corrective actions. • Drive system enhancements and participate in testing and implementation of new tools and processes. • Manage ad hoc projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy within the department. • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. • Develop and maintain documentation for procedures and training materials. • Serve as escalation point for unresolved issues and high-impact transactions. • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement. Qualifications: • Proven experience in cash operations, preferably in mortgage servicing or financial services. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Proficiency with MSP and other servicing systems. • Deep understanding of BPL and Residential Cash processes. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with system testing and enhancement planning. • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
