Bachelor’s degree in engineering or building science, P.Eng. or EIT status with licensure eligibility, 5+ years in building science or envelope consulting, technical report and design document preparation, and proficiency with AutoCAD.
Project Manager – Building Science Location: The office location is in Richmond, British Columbia Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Remote About the Role We are seeking a motivated Project Manager – Building Science to join our growing team in British Columbia. The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or EIT within 12 months of obtaining licensure in the province. You will manage and execute building envelope and restoration projects from investigation through to construction completion, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, technically sound solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage building science and envelope restoration projects, including investigation, design, tendering, and construction administration. • Conduct detailed condition assessments, field reviews, and forensic investigations of existing building envelopes. • Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for building envelope rehabilitation and new construction projects. • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and property managers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. • Oversee construction activities, review shop drawings, and ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards. • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and assist with internal QA/QC processes. • Manage client relationships, project documentation, and progress reporting. • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, standards, and professional practice guidelines. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Building Science (or related discipline). • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in BC, or EIT registered with EGBC and eligible to obtain P.Eng within 12 months. • Minimum 5+ years of experience in building science, façade, or building envelope consulting (including project management experience). • Strong knowledge of building envelope systems (roofing, cladding, windows, waterproofing, and thermal/moisture protection). • Proven experience preparing design documents, specifications, and technical reports. • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and familiarity with Revit or Bluebeam is an asset. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
