BW Industrial Construction is seeking a Safety Manager who is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs to ensure a safe working environment across project worksites. Reporting to the Chief Operations Manager, this role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, state safety standards, and internal policies, while promoting a culture of safety. The position requires 100% travel to various project locations and plays a critical role in mitigating risks and ensuring operational safety. Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to industrial construction projects • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance with OSHA and state regulations, and recommend corrective actions • Provide safety training and orientations for all site personnel, including toolbox talks, hazard communication, and equipment safety protocols • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures • Maintain accurate safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation, in compliance with regulatory requirements • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and project planning • Monitor and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems on all job sites • Stay current on OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and construction-specific safety practices, updating programs as needed • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during safety inspections or investigations • Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging workers and leadership in safety initiatives and continuous improvement Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (required) • Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience with industrial construction projects, including familiarity with heavy equipment and high-risk operations • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, federal/state safety laws, and construction-specific safety standards • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage safety programs in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to travel 100% to various project locations, including extended stays at remote sites • Authorized to work in the U.S. • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, consistent with company policy for all roles Preferred Qualifications • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification or higher (highly preferred) • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification • Knowledge of incident investigation techniques (e.g., root cause analysis) and safety metrics reporting Work Environment • 100% travel to project sites across various locations, including Houston, TX, and other regions, with extended on-site presence • Collaborative role working closely with project managers, site supervisors, and field crews • Dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring adaptability to diverse project conditions and schedules • Exposure to outdoor construction sites, requiring adherence to PPE standards and ability to navigate challenging terrains Employee Classification: Exempt Employee Work Status: Full-time Join us as we continue to innovate and lead in our industry!
