Custom Pod Player Build – Full-Stack Dev (React/Node + Streaming) Hi! I’m Melodie—founder of Business Tech Ninjas. I’m looking for a thoughtful, self-led developer to own the build of a custom audio platform for a well-known mindset audio program. This isn’t a “just tell me what to do” gig. It’s for someone who wants to build something clean, strategic, and scalable—with the CEO (that’s me) as your thinking partner, not a micromanager. Who This Role Is Perfect For If you’re a full-stack dev tired of vague direction and tech chaos, you’ll probably love this. I understand code. I speak tech. I act as the translator between devs and clients. And I want to build something that’s smart, fast, and beautiful. Together, we’ll make intentional decisions—considering trade-offs short and long term—rather than slapping features on. You’re probably someone who: • Thrives on collaboration and system design • Enjoys shaping clean, modern tools that serve actual users • Is energized by figuring out “how we do this well,” not just “how we get it done” • Finds joy in structure, ownership, and thoughtful solutions What You’ll Be Building We’re replacing a clunky WordPress + Memberium setup with a lightweight, mobile-first app. You’ll be leading the full rebuild of: • A custom pod-style audio player (PWA-ready, intuitive UX) • User login and access control (Stripe-powered subscriptions) • Listening streaks and content completion tracking • Simple, branded user dashboards • Secure audio delivery (signed URLs, HLS, anti-hotlinking) • A system that just works—even for low-tech users If this project goes well, there’s opportunity to collaborate on future builds and ongoing projects inside our agency and plugin division. Tech Stack (You Don’t Need 100%, But Know Your Way Around Most) Frontend: • React + TypeScript (Next.js preferred) • TailwindCSS, Radix UI • Custom players / HLS.js • PWA features, mobile-first • Accessibility (WCAG 2.1) Backend: • Node.js (NestJS, Express, or Next API routes) • PostgreSQL / Supabase • REST APIs with auth and entitlements • Stripe integration • CDN and secure delivery (Cloudflare, AWS) Nice-to-Haves: • Sentry/PostHog or similar logging • Familiarity with Memberium/Keap (for legacy cleanup) • Awareness of older device/browser constraints How We Work at BTN • We’re smart, fast, and kind—not frantic. • We don’t need hand-holding, but we do ask questions early and often. • We work in weekly sprints: one live call per week to set direction, then async delivery and touchpoints as needed. • You’ll work closely with me (Melodie), and with our designer/video editor if the project calls for it. • We value ownership: if you see something broken or unclear, flag it or fix it. • You’re encouraged to speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
