Logistics Manager - Onsite Role in Southwest Houston Logistics Manager Duties: • Supervise drivers, material handlers, and logistics support staff. • Assign routes, plan daily schedules, and ensure timely pickups and deliveries. • Maintain safety, accountability, and strong team morale across all logistics operations. • Serve as the primary logistics contact for client pickups and scheduling. • Communicate driver ETAs, provide real-time updates, and resolve any logistics-related issues promptly. • Ensure positive customer experiences through consistent communication and reliability. • Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and inspection of company vehicles. • Coordinate truck rentals and manage vendor relationships for supplemental transportation needs. • Manage all inbound and outbound freight operations, including small parcel, LTL, and full truckload shipments. • Negotiate rates and manage contracts with freight and small parcel carriers to ensure cost-effective, timely, and reliable service. • Source, negotiate, and maintain inventory of packing supplies and materials used for both local and out-of-town jobs. • Maintain stock of tools and equipment needed to support logistics operations. • Arrange flights, hotels, and transportation for logistics-related travel. • Manage travel budgets efficiently to maintain cost control. • Partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Warehouse teams to align logistics plans with operational needs. • Coordinate with warehouse staff for efficient inbound and outbound material flow. • Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, route assignments, freight movements, and maintenance schedules. • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, DOT requirements, and safety regulations. • Prepare and submit reports as required. Logistics Manager Qualifications: • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight, or transportation management (ITAD, recycling, or manufacturing industry preferred). • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. • Proven ability to plan routes, manage teams, and resolve challenges efficiently. • Familiarity with route planning tools, GPS tracking systems, and logistics software. • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service orientation. • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet client and project needs.
