Description Burgos Group Remote opportunity with 25% travel Assistant/Project Manager, Level 1 Primary Accountabilities: Burgos Group is seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager/or Project Manager Level 1 to support multiple federal construction projects being managed out of our New Mexico and New Jersey offices. This position is remote with a minimum of 25% travel to our offices and job sites as needed. The Project Manager, Level 1, assists the Project Manager with the planning, scheduling and coordinating of all phases of a project. This includes subcontractor relations, cost accounting and billing procedures, procurement, and liaison with owners, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. Must be well versed using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Access) and scheduling software (Primavera and/or MS Project). Experience with Federal contracting is highly desired. Major Duties: Project Support • Assist the administration of federal construction contracts, including design-build and design-bid-build delivery. • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, daily reports, safety documentation, and quality control logs in compliance with contract requirements. • Track schedules, prepare updates, and support time-impact analyses and progress reporting (e.g., AF 3064/3065, cost-loaded schedules). • Support compliance with federal specifications, EM 385-1-1 safety standards, UFGS requirements, and agency-specific QA/QC processes. • Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination, including monitoring compliance with Davis-Bacon Act, certified payrolls, bonds, and insurance requirements. • Participate and/or run project meetings with contracting officers, CORs, and government inspectors; prepare meeting minutes and follow-up documentation. Bids, Proposals, and Estimating • Support preparation of proposals in response to federal solicitations, ensuring compliance with FAR and agency submission requirements. • Assist in developing technical narratives, past performance write-ups, staffing plans, and compliance matrices. • Perform quantity takeoffs, gather subcontractor/vendor quotes, and support preparation of detailed cost estimates in alignment with CLIN structures, WBS formats, and government pricing templates. • Coordinate with internal teams to collect historical project data and lessons learned for inclusion in proposals. • Track and update proposal schedules, ensuring timely submission of compliant packages. Requirements Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 2–5 years of experience in construction on federal projects with USACE, NAVFAC, FAA, GSA, DOE, or DoD clients. • Working knowledge of federal contracting (FAR/DFARS), contract modifications, REAs, and compliance documentation. • Familiarity with federal safety, quality control, and environmental standards (e.g., EM 385-1-1, UFGS 01 45 00). • Experience supporting proposals and bids under federal acquisition processes. • Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Sage, Timberline, or similar). • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordination with contracting officers, subcontractors, and internal teams. • Must be able to pass a Federal background check and be a US citizen. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience with RMS/QCS systems. • Knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act compliance and federal labor reporting. • OSHA 30-hour certification; USACE CQM certification a plus. • Experience with cost-loaded schedules, time-impact analyses, and claims/REA support. • Prior involvement in competitive proposal preparation for federal agencies.
