City: Remote  State: Remote Director of Business Development – Environmental Due Diligence   Sales Territory: New England & Mid-Atlantic   Bureau Veritas is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive regional growth across our Environmental Due Diligence service line, with primary responsibility for the New England and Mid-Atlantic markets. This role is hyper-focused on expanding new business tied to environmental risk assessments that support commercial real estate transactions, including financing, acquisitions, dispositions, development, and portfolio management throughout this high-activity region.   This position serves as the face of Bureau Veritas’ environmental due diligence services across New England and the Mid-Atlantic, deepening relationships with lenders, equity partners, owners, developers, brokers, and legal advisors. The Director of Business Development will position Bureau Veritas as a trusted partner for high-quality, defensible environmental reporting that keeps deals moving and risks transparent.   This is a true growth role—strategic, relationship-driven, and territory-minded. Our services inform underwriting, investment decisions, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset strategies for clients with regional and national portfolios, with a strong and growing presence throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic.   BV Environmental Due Diligence Services Include:   Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM / AAI-compliant) Phase II Environmental Investigations Transaction Screen Assessments (TSAs) Environmental Desktop Reviews Vapor Intrusion Assessments Radon Testing & Mitigation Lead-Based Paint & Asbestos Assessments Environmental Compliance Reviews Portfolio & Programmatic Environmental Due Diligence   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations. Leads sales strategy and execution for environmental due diligence services across the New England and Mid-Atlantic territories. Drives new business by identifying opportunities tied to acquisitions, refinancing, dispositions, development, and portfolio transactions within assigned regional markets. Builds and expands relationships with lenders, private equity firms, owners, developers, brokers, legal counsel, and advisors active throughout the territory. Serves as a trusted advisor to regional clients, translating environmental risk into clear, actionable insights aligned with deal timelines. Acts as a liaison between clients and Bureau Veritas’ technical teams to ensure scope alignment, responsiveness, and high-quality delivery. Identifies and qualifies prospects that align with Bureau Veritas’ ideal client profile within the assigned territory, advancing opportunities into active engagements. Partners with the Executive Vice President of Sales to follow up, advance, and close qualified leads. Establishes market objectives by researching target organizations, understanding current and emerging market trends, and identifying growth opportunities within New England and the Mid-Atlantic. Develops and executes a territory-specific sales plan, including revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and expected sales volume. Establishes Bureau Veritas’ market presence by identifying, penetrating, and developing long-term relationships with organizations managing commercial real estate assets across the region. Services targeted clients by conducting sales calls to understand business strategies, organizational structures, and environmental risk priorities. Monitors competition by gathering marketplace intelligence on pricing, service offerings, and industry trends. Travels throughout the New England and Mid-Atlantic region by plane, motor vehicle, or train (up to 25% of the workweek) to support client meetings, site visits, and industry events.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES   May directly or indirectly supervise employees within the team. May be asked to fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including training, planning, assigning work, and performance management.   QUALIFICATIONS   Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field; minimum of 2–5 years of related experience. In lieu of degree, 5–8 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience selling environmental due diligence or professional services within commercial real estate, lending, or investment environments. Strong understanding of Phase I and Phase II ESA processes and how environmental risk impacts transaction timelines and investment decisions. Proven ability to sell business-to-business services and manage complex, relationship-driven sales cycles. Experience selling professional services within the New England and/or Mid-Atlantic commercial real estate markets strongly preferred; existing regional relationships are a plus.   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:   Valid driver’s license required with no significant motor vehicle record (MVR) points or violations.   BENEFITS   At Bureau Veritas, we are committed to supporting both your professional growth and personal well-being through competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
