The successful candidate may also be eligible to work a hybrid schedule. This is a permanent, full-time, Management Service-Supervisory position. It is not meant to encompass all duties. • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the ISU team, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of IT services and strategic technology solutions aligned with the agency's mission and goals. This includes setting team vision and objectives, conducting regular leadership team meetings to discuss strategic priorities, address high-level challenges, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. • Plans, assigns, and reviews work of employees to ensure the programs strategic plan is being met through clear expectations. Review, update, and present employees position description capturing signatures when changes are made and at annual review. • Responsible for onboarding new employees, participates in candidate selection, interview process, reference checks, presenting job offers, ordering equipment, facilities space planning, and develop onboarding training schedule for new employees. • Review, track, and approve employee leave request, time submission, scheduling changes, and remote working agreements. Before each payroll close date follow up with employee if updates, corrections, or final submission is needed, then complete manager’s final submission of approved time. • Review, Analyze and report on employee’s performance. Develop performance metrics, milestones, and training plan. Ensure performance is being reviewed and communicated throughout the trial service period and during quarterly check-ins. Working Conditions: The work location for this position is in Portland, Oregon, in an office and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing. The position will require maintenance of tight deadlines and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within short or shifting time frames with frequent interruptions, which may cause stressful situations. The work will involve frequent contact with executives, management, and a variety of people both internal and external to the organization which will require the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. This Is What You Need to Qualify: (MQ’s) • Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; • OR three years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes: (EA’s) • Understanding the vision, objectives, and long-term direction for the Information Services Unit (ISU) • Proficient in making day-to-day operational decisions to ensure effective service delivery and team performance, including planning, assigning, and reviewing employee work to meet strategic objectives. • Proficient at an advanced level in communications and innovation. • Experience mentoring and developing staff and skills.
