We are looking for a Sr. Risk Analyst to join our team! This role is responsible for conducting in-depth real estate valuation analysis by evaluating appraisals, BPOs, and market data to provide independent pricing recommendations and develop scalable, data-driven valuation processes in collaboration with cross-functional risk teams. What You’ll Do: Analyze and evaluate appraisals and BPO’s and perform independent valuation recommendations for each proposed project. Consider the location characteristics of the proposed product to evaluate the anticipated selling price. Use localized data to understand relevant market conditions including verification of comparable homes. Draw from a variety of disparate data sources and consolidate them into clear and concise insights, supposed by the information available. Devise metrics for loan approval and create repeatable processes whenever practical and work with others on the team to test the valuation metrics and to implement testing and process improvement. Work with other team members, including Senior Risk Analysts who are focused on other aspects of the loan approval process. Utilize internal tools, frameworks, and proprietary models to evaluate the financial and operational health of potential projects. Conduct comprehensive due diligence, analyzing key risk factors, strategic fit, and performance indicators. Prepare detailed due diligence reports and strategic assessments for review by executive leadership and key stakeholders. Synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making at the executive level. Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MAI, ASA, CFA) a plus. 3–5 years of experience in real estate valuation, risk analysis, underwriting, or a similar analytical role, preferably within a mortgage, lending, or investment environment. Strong understanding of appraisal methods, Broker Price Opinions (BPOs), and other property valuation techniques. Proven ability to analyze location characteristics and use localized market data to assess property values and anticipated selling prices. Familiarity with comparable sales analysis, local market trends, and relevant real estate data sources (e.g., MLS, CoreLogic, Zillow, Redfin, etc.). Demonstrated experience in consolidating multiple data sources into clear, data-supported insights and actionable recommendations. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); experience with statistical analysis or modeling is a plus. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, particularly with risk analysts and other stakeholders involved in the loan approval process. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
