We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Virtual Power Plant Program Manager. This role will be the primary coordinator and program administrator of our VPP programs. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Virtual Power Plant (VPP) partner integrations, managing new program launches, and owning post-launch partner support and program growth. With the ability to work on strategy and implementation, this position offers a fast paced environment with plenty of autonomy. Why this Role is Important: Our Energy Management team launched the First Small Commercial VPP in the country across 3 Energy Markets and 1 Major Utility Program, with wildly successful results. Now we’re expanding and looking to add a highly motivated, go getter to help us GO BIG for 2026!! You’ll work as the coordinator and orchestrator, building out our footprint as we expand to help our clients realize this innovative new revenue source while helping the community. A successful candidate will keep our end Customer experience top of mind while expanding our programs with utilities and energy market partners in target growth areas to deliver the best program in the business. As a Program Manager, you will show direct success by enabling program implementation and continued growth, increasing revenue, customer satisfaction, and grid stability across the US. Responsibilities: Cultivate, manage, and expand relationships with Budderfly’s Utility and Energy Market partners while maintaining a personal touch with every interaction. Oversee program launches and guide coordination and project management as Budderfly grows its VPP programs. Contribute to VPP strategy & expansion planning. Collaborate with the Sales, Development, Marketing, Product, and our customer success team to ensure the highest level of program delivery and streamlined growth. Contribute directly to the development and implementation of strategies to meet internal growth targets. Coordinate with team members and departments to prioritize clients-reported issues and demands and maintain clear communication with clients. Manage and oversee the implementation and operation of demand response or VPP programs. Monitor program performance and make data-driven improvements. Assist with reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Prepare and present reports on program performance to senior management. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in energy management. Work as a team to respond to RFPs or engage new business, occasionally leading the effort and coordinating new work with our Technical Product Manager to deliver new capabilities. Additional duties as assigned. Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand response program management or a related field. Understanding of Demand Response program management and program growth beyond thermostats, including but not limited to Batteries, Solar, Electric Vehicles and additional load control technologies. Very strong organizational and time management skills. Thrives in start up environment and willing to go deep into the work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of program management methodologies and tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a core personal drive to find solutions. Self starter with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Professional certifications such as project management certification (PMP) are preferred. Compensation $115,000—$135,000 USD Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
