Description A Part-time Maintenance Assistant is Needed at Bryn Mawr Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility located in the Edgewater/Uptown area with easy access to the Red Line and Sheridan Road buses. This is a Union position requiring Union dues and does come with competitive benefits. The hourly rate for this position is $18.00. The position is Part-time, 2 days a week day shift and you'll need to work every other weekend. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Assist in maintaining and documenting the schedule of hot water checks in consumers' rooms, baths, showers and all general hot water sources at the facility. Assist in assuring the proper maintenance and running condition of all electricity and plumbing in the entire facility including the kitchen, laundry room, and common areas. Assuring the proper maintenance and running condition of all equipment such as kitchen and laundry appliances; call station systems; air handlers; HVAC; boilers; sump pumps; emergency generators and elevators. Provide assistance to the Maintenance Director regarding inspections of safety systems Perform repairs, painting as needed Assist in supervising construction, renovation and remodeling Implement any plan of correction as required by State & Federal agencies. Perform other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Director or Administrator or Designee IND 3 Requirements Requirements for the Maintenance Assistant: High school diploma Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, HVAC (licensure in any of these areas preferred) Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routing job duties Must have good problem solving and trouble-shooting skills Be personable and understanding with consumers who have mental illness Must be able to life, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, linens etc in excess of 50 pounds as required
