This is a remote position. As a Sales Underwriter you will be responsible for evaluating debt relief applications, working closely with the sales team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless processing and management of debt relief files. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the debt relief process. Sales Underwriting Qualifications ● Monitor and respond to emails promptly, ensuring all inquiries and requests are addressed efficiently ● Process and verify debt relief applications and files for accuracy and completeness ● Review all cancellations, providing proper documentation and follow-up ● Provide approvals for debt relief files in compliance with company policies and procedures ● Assist the sales team with underwriting questions and bring guidance to facilitate smooth operations ● Generate and analyze reports on key metrics to monitor performance and identify areas of importance ● Tag processed files appropriately and confirm proper notation in all systems ● Notate and follow up, in a timely manner on any error identified when reviewing files ● Accurately update all file changes related to underwriting processes ● Handle the reinstatement of files ensuring all required steps are followed ● Work with stakeholders to restructure files as needed to retain business and provide the best solutions for clients ● Proven experience in underwriting, preferably within the debt relief or financial services industry is a plus ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team ● Ability to maintain confidentiality ● Strong analytical skills and attention to detail ● Knowledge of debt relief options and industry regulations is a plus Requirements Experience 2–4 Years Minimum: Requires a minimum of 2 years of proven, hands-on experience in a financial services or debt relief environment, with duties focused on underwriting, compliance, or complex application processing. Experience restructuring files and managing compliance issues would favor the higher end of the range. Technical Skills: Comprehensive understanding of the debt relief process and industry regulations (a "plus" but essential), ability to process and verify applications, generate and analyze reports on key metrics, and accurately update file changes and follow up on identified errors. Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills (crucial for evaluation), attention to detail (must for file processing), excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, mental fortitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
