Full Description

This is a remote position. Schedule: • Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Visalia, California, USA) with a 1-hour lunch break (10 hours per day). • Total Paid Working Hours per Week: 40 hours. Responsibilities: • Manage Referrals: Handle the end-to-end referral process, from initial request to appointment scheduling. • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for requested services, specialist visits, and procedures. • Prior Authorizations: Prepare, submit, and diligently follow up on prior authorization requests with various insurance companies in a timely manner. • Communication Hub: Act as a liaison between patients, referring physician offices, specialty clinics, and insurance carriers to communicate statuses and resolve any issues. • Documentation: Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all referral and authorization activities. • Problem Resolution: Investigate and address any authorization denials, coordinating appeals or peer-to-peer reviews when necessary. Requirements: • Must have prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting with direct responsibility for medical insurance verification and the prior authorization process. • Knowledge of different insurance plans (e.g., HMO, PPO) and their referral/authorization requirements. • Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills. • Excellent professional written and verbal communication abilities. • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines. • Prior experience with insurance portals is a plus.
