Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and technical manuals. • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance. • Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. • Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently. • Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on automotive systems; solder wiring or electronic components as needed. • Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols. • Assist with assembly or disassembly of complex machinery during major repairs or upgrades; perform heavy lifting safely with appropriate equipment. Qualifications • Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or in an automotive repair environment; dealership experience is highly preferred. • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, suspension components, and tire services. • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools. • Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; comfortable using hand tools and power tools for repairs. • Experience operating heavy equipment like excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery; industrial or farm machinery knowledge is a plus. • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; excellent attention to detail with strong customer service skills. • Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment operation are advantageous; relevant licenses may be required by local regulations.
