Brownstein’s growing Public Affairs practice is at the center of some of the biggest policy fights in Washington and around the country. We have an immediate need for a Public Affairs Coordinator to join our growing and exciting Public Affairs and Strategic Communications practice in our Washington, DC office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and execute strategic communications plans for clients, including media outreach and messaging. • Draft press releases, talking points, op-eds, and other written materials for client initiatives. • Monitor media coverage and provide timely updates and analysis to clients and internal teams. • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders. • Assist in crisis communications and rapid response efforts as needed. • Support client meetings, briefings, and events, including preparation of materials and follow-up. • Collaborate with attorneys, policy professionals, and other team members to integrate communications strategies with legislative and regulatory objectives. • Conduct research on policy issues, media trends, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Required and Preferred Qualifications: • 2-4 years of experience as a press aide or in a communications role within the U.S. House, Senate, or Administration, required. • Experience working with or for private sector clients in public affairs or strategic communications, preferred. • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive messaging. • Familiarity with media relations and political communications strategies. • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Existing relationships with national and trade media outlets, a plus. • Knowledge of digital and social media strategies for public affairs campaigns. Compensation and Benefits: Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off.
