We are committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, access and inclusion. $29.00/hour + commission FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary The Assistant Group Sales Manager, Tourism will be an essential team member for the Group Sales Box Office team, providing both customer service to a portfolio of clients while also developing new business opportunities within the tourism and travel segment. This role will also support and assist in managing the sales and customer service team. Duties And Responsibilities Group Sales (approx. 60% of responsibilities / 24 hours per week) • Assist with managing daily operations, supervising and training staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. • Provide exceptional service and support to a portfolio of existing and new clients throughout the entire process, ensuring timely and professional communication with clients from first contact to post-trip follow-up. Tourism Development (approx. 40% of responsibilities / 16 hours per week) • Alongside executive leadership, this position will contribute to and oversee Group Sales Box Office’s (GSBO’s) relationships with a wide variety of external travel and tourism-related associations and partners including, but not limited to, tour operators, meeting planners, tourism associations, CVBs, and industry peers. • Drive tourism sales from start to finish including expanding current client relationships, prospecting new leads, and working cross-departmentally to develop new opportunities, meet sales goals, and manage budgets. • Develop and implement a detailed sales plan with clear goals tied to tickets sold, new client acquisition, and market share growth. • Collaborates with VP of Marketing, Partnerships, & Insights and Senior Marketing & Partnerships Manager to create, implement, and distribute tourism campaigns and materials as well as leading and scheduling FAM experiences for clients and partners. • Attends sales missions nationally and internationally to maintain relationships with important clients on the ground: • Coordinates presentations and follow-up. • Collaborates with partners and stakeholders on marketing materials. • Advises on new ticketing partnership business opportunities. • Tracks and analyzes sales data. • Collaborates with the VP of Marketing, Partnerships, & Insights and the Group Sales Financial Analyst in the following areas: • Integrates market trends and visitation analytics to support GSBO’s global outreach efforts in the travel and tourism-related business area. • Tracks program metrics. • Reports on actual sales against outreach efforts. • Incorporates reported activities and trends into internal reporting. • Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above. Supervisory Responsibilities The Assistant Group Sales Manager will assist with supervising group sales staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Education And/or Experience • 3+ years of experience in customer service and driving tourism and travel sales, group sales, or sales in a related field (required.) Communication Skills • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, partnerships, design, insights, operations, fulfillment, and customer service. • Exceptional communication skills to engage leadership, external partners, and key stakeholders. Requirements • Position is based in the New York City office and is currently 4 days in-office, 1 day-remote, subject to change. • Schedule can include time outside of standard business hours. • Travel is Required, seasonally and up to 40% of schedule. • Must have a valid passport.
