Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5-7 years of experience with large datasets and AML/OFAC tools, strong SQL skills, relevant certifications or willingness to obtain, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Financial Crimes Data Analyst The Financial Crimes Data Analyst will support the Financial Crimes Technology Manager in building and maintaining datasets and related functions tied to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (BSA/AML/OFAC) regulatory requirements. This role will work closely with AFC team members to gather requirements, leveraging systems and data to help detect and prevent financial crimes while mitigating risk. Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities: • Assist in building and tuning transaction monitoring rules for AML compliance and OFAC list screening. • Develop and refine models to detect suspicious activity related to BSA/AML/OFAC operations. • Serve as the subject matter expert on BSA/AML/OFAC data and requirements; learn and master internal datasets and collaborate across teams to identify risks and uncover insights through data analysis. • Conduct testing, analyze A/B tests, and perform ad hoc analysis for the AFC team. • Ensure data integrity through quality control measures, requirements gathering, and data mapping exercises. • Partner with IT and Product teams to maintain and improve data processes. • Mentor and support team members to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and professional development. • Review work in accordance with BSA/AML/OFAC, FinCEN, and organizational policies and procedures. • Drive process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency across responsibilities. • Create and maintain dashboards and reports for the AFC team to monitor system performance and rules execution. • Provide updates to the Executive Team and Board of Directors, as needed. • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations relevant to the position and stay current with industry requirements. • Follow all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to BSA/AML/OFAC. Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in technology and data. • 5–7 years of experience working with large datasets and developing data modeling and analysis. • Strong programming skills such as SQL or similar languages. • Experience with AML transaction monitoring and OFAC list screening tools. • CAMS, CFE, or equivalent certification(s), or willingness to obtain certification. • Ability to design and enhance AML operating processes to maximize effectiveness.
