Full Description

The [1] Broad Institute is an amazing place - we exist to apply our deep knowledge of human genetics to empower a revolution in biomedicine and accelerate the pace at which the world conquers disease. The Broad Institute’s [2] Center for the Development of Therapeutics (CDoT) partner with faculty at MIT, Harvard and the Harvard teaching hospitals to translate emerging biological insights into novel therapeutic strategies. We couple novel technologies and approaches to industry-standard drug discovery rigor to tackle some of the most challenging targets across a wide range of disease areas. We are currently seeking a cell biologist/pharmacologist to join the CDoT Cell Pharmacology team. In this role, you will report to a research scientist and work across multi-disciplinary teams to drive the development and execution of novel cell-based assays to empower target validation, hit discovery and lead optimization. This includes target engagement and mechanism of action. Ideally, you will have experience using multiple assay formats in the context of drug discovery/therapeutics. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years or a Master's degree with 1-2 of relevant experience in cell biology, chemical biology, or a related scientific field. • Demonstrated experience in culturing, deriving, and maintaining various cell lines. • Proven ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently to meet project goals. • Maintain detailed experimental records, documentation, and written protocols • Ability to adapt and effectively manage changes in a fast-paced dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with plate-based assays and high-throughput screening. • Familiarity with advanced techniques such as high-content imaging, microscopy, or molecular biology (e.g., PCR, western blotting, ELISA). • Experience with data analysis using coding languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
