High school diploma, minimum 2 years maintenance experience in relevant environment, mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge, physical ability, and basic computer skills.
Position Overview The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of warehouse equipment, packaging lines, and facility systems. This role ensures smooth and safe daily operations in a fast-paced co-packing environment, supporting production goals and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on packaging machinery, conveyors, forklifts, and other equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues to keep production running efficiently. Maintain the building and grounds, including lighting, doors, and basic plumbing. Assist in installing and setting up new production or packaging equipment. Keep detailed maintenance logs and equipment service records. Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate orders with the supervisor when needed. Support safety, sanitation, and compliance programs, ensuring equipment meets company and regulatory standards. Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to schedule repairs with minimal disruption. Liaise with outside vendors for specialized repairs or inspections (HVAC, electrical, etc.). Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification is an asset. Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, ideally in a warehouse, food packaging, or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing hands-on repairs. Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting. Preferred Skills Experience with co-packing or food packaging machinery (e.g., labelers, fillers, sealers). Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS software. Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety standards. Forklift certification is a plus.
