The Opportunity British Transport Police have an opportunity for an Estates & Facilities Assistant (Financial) to join the Estates Department. As an Estates & Facilities Assistant (Financial) with BTP, you will provide essential financial and procurement support to ensure the smooth operation and cost-effective management of estates-related activities. What You'll Be Doing • Managing financial processes – Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of spend across both project portfolios and BAU estates expenditure. • Procurement of goods and services – Ensuring Best Value is achieved and procurement rules are followed for all purchases within the Estates team. • Monitoring purchasing systems – Assisting with the administration and control of Procurement Card and Eproc transactions by Estates team members. • Providing administrative support – Delivering general assistance to the Estates team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. What You'll Bring To The Team • Relevant qualification or experience – A qualification in Business Administration or at least one year of practical experience in a similar environment. • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills – Proven ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks effectively, and deliver accurate results under pressure. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – High level of verbal and written communication, with the ability to build effective working relationships and relay information clearly. • Good IT and financial systems knowledge – Confident in using IT systems and understanding facilities-related and financial processes.
