Full Description

BRIO Labs is building a next generation Research Operating System that helps research teams connect their tools, capture lab memory, and turn messy knowledge into fast, trusted answers and proactive workflows. If you love building product foundations from zero to one and want meaningful ownership, this is for you. This is an equity only role until we raise funding. What you will do • Own the full technical vision and architecture for BRIO Labs V1 • Lead core systems: integrations, ingestion, parsing, indexing, search and chat, lab memory, permissions • Design reliable data pipelines for documents, notes, PDFs, slides, and datasets • Set engineering standards for quality, security, and speed • Hire and lead a small team after we raise funds • Python for backend and AI pipelines • MySQL for core application data • Neo4j for knowledge graph and lab memory • Google Cloud for infrastructure and deployments • Strong AI experience (RAG, embeddings, evaluation, guardrails) • Hands on with GraphRAG systems and graph driven retrieval What we are looking for • Strong full stack builder with real product shipping experience • Comfortable being hands on across backend, infra, and frontend when needed • Deep understanding of modern AI systems: RAG, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation, and guardrails • Experience with multi tenant SaaS, auth, access control, and auditability • Strong taste in UX and performance, you care about polish • High ownership, clear communication, and startup mindset
