We are currently seeking skilled embedded software engineers to develop flight-critical firmware, with a focus on advanced drone pilot assistance features. About this Role: We are looking for a Test Technician to support the development, testing, and refinement of our cutting-edge drones and public safety products. In this role, you will work hands-on with prototypes, conduct experiments, troubleshoot hardware and test setup issues, and collaborate closely with engineers to bring innovative concepts to life. Your expertise in electronics assembly, fabrication, testing, and problem-solving will be critical in accelerating product development and ensuring high-quality performance in real-world conditions. Key Responsibilities: • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical test setups for drones and other public safety products. This will include table top setups, basic test fixtures, and fully integrated test systems. • Conduct experiments and performance tests, collecting and analyzing data to support R&D initiatives. • Work closely with engineers to refine test setups, provide feedback, and iterate on designs. • Operate and maintain lab equipment, tools, and test rigs to support development efforts. • Document test results, procedures, and findings to improve product design and reliability. • Assist with component fabrication using techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and soldering. • Support field testing, including setup, monitoring, and data collection. • Ensure safety protocols and best practices are followed in all R&D activities. Qualifications: • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a hardware test or prototyping environment. • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting techniques. • Experience with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and power tools. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation. • Ability to solder components as small as 0201 Preferred Skills • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. • Experience working with UAVs, robotics, or autonomous systems. • Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing and modifying designs. • Knowledge of material properties, adhesives, and fasteners for hardware development. • Experience with environmental and stress testing for ruggedized hardware.
