Role: Sr. Cloud Systems Engineer, Microsoft Azure Location: Remote (Candidate must be within a five-hour drive to Rochester, NY) Type of Employment: Direct Hire Duration: Permanent Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, secure, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure infrastructure, Azure Virtual Desktop, networking, identity, automation, and hybrid cloud environments. Required Skills: • 5+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure, including 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure administration • Experience with Azure VMs, Storage, Networking, Azure Monitor, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, DNS, and Azure networking • Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM) • Experience with Azure Backup, Site Recovery, Azure Migrate, monitoring, governance, and security • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills Responsibilities: • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure and cloud services • Support Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows image management, and hybrid connectivity • Configure networking, identity integration, monitoring, governance, and security controls • Automate deployments and administration using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and IaC • Perform migrations, patching, backup, disaster recovery, and cost optimization • Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide technical leadership Preferred: Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Network Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty), VMware, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, ExpressRoute, HIPAA/regulatory environment experience.
