Job Summary: The Mid Software Engineer – ServiceNow is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform for enterprise clients. This role works closely with product, operations, and cross functional engineering teams to translate business objectives into high-quality technical outcomes. The engineer will contribute to application development, integrations, workflow automation, and platform enhancements following ServiceNow and brightfin best practices. Success requires strong ServiceNow fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.‑functional engineering teams to translate business objectives into high‑quality technical outcomes. Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities: • Develop and enhance ServiceNow applications, workflows, UI policies, business rules, integrations, and custom components following platform best practices. • Build and maintain ServiceNow Portal components (Angular/Seismic) where applicable. • Create scalable, maintainable technical solutions to solve complex business problems. • Configure and extend modules such as ITSM, CMDB, Asset, App Engine, and custom scoped applications. • Design, implement, and optimize data models, forms, ACLs, client/server scripts, UI actions, and Flow Designer automations. • Investigate, triage, and resolve client and operational issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.‑cause analysis and implementing long‑term solutions. • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, development work, and system behaviors. • Work directly with clients, product managers, operations, and project management to define requirements and ensure timely delivery of solutions. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.‑sharing within the engineering team. Minimum Qualifications: • 2-4+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development and administration experience. • Experience supporting or developing within ITSM, CMDB, Asset, App Engine, or Portal modules. • Experience developing with JavaScript on the ServiceNow platform, including Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and UI policies/actions. • Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, scoped applications, update sets, and release management. • Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub. • Familiarity with web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, AngularJS, JSON, XML, and API‑driven development. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (preferred). Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Proficient in developing ServiceNow applications, workflows, and integrations for enterprise use cases. • Working knowledge of CMDB structures, asset models, discovery patterns, and platform automation. • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills in high‑scale, complex environments. • Ability to translate business requirements into well‑architected technical solutions. • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code and adhere to development standards. • Excellent communication skills when interfacing with cross‑functional teams and non‑technical stakeholders. • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. • ServiceNow certifications (Admin, CAD, CIS‑App Engine, CIS‑ITSM) • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automated testing frameworks within ServiceNow • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems (Jira, Workday, AWS, etc.) Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
