Job Summary The Manager, Branding & Design is responsible for guiding and supporting the successful translation and production of Brand USA’s brand strategy and aesthetic into creative marketing materials across print and digital communications, multimedia, and video productions. This role supports the execution of compelling, brand-aligned visual content for destination branding, trade and consumer campaigns, proprietary platforms, and international initiatives. The ideal candidate brings advanced design skills, demonstrated experience integrating Generative AI into production design workflows, and a player-coach mindset to standardize and teach AI-augmented practices that scale high-quality creative output globally. Essential Functions • Manage the design and production of branded communications across print and digital, including collateral, event graphics, advertorials, email templates, newsletters, presentations, and assets for social media, web, and video • Develop AI-augmented workflows through templates, critique standards, and lightweight training (prompt libraries, workflow playbooks, and QA checklists). • Guide workload distribution among the creative team, prioritizing high-volume needs from Global Trade and international teams • Serve as a key liaison for external creative vendors, providing art direction, branding consistency, and technical guidance on video, motion graphics, and event AV production • Provide creative leadership in visual storytelling, including custom illustrations, iconography, and brand-aligned photography selection • Architect and manage AI-augmented creative workflows using Brand USA–approved tools (e.g., rapid storyboarding, concepting, image editing, and asset exploration) to increase velocity while maintaining strict brand consistency, documented decision-making, and legal compliance. • Partner with the Chief AI Officer to implement and enforce Brand USA governance for visual and image-generation AI tools within the design team, including usage standards, documentation requirements, copyright/licensing checks, and brand safety review gates. • Drive innovation in visual design by evaluating and testing new design technologies to improve team efficiency and output quality. • Support the development of scalable processes for project tracking, asset management, and team coordination to ensure consistency, timeliness, and creative excellence. • Ensure Brand USA’s visual identity is applied with consistency, creativity, and adaptability across all projects and platforms. • Available for occasional after-hours calls and time-sensitive projects. Job Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. • Minimum 6 years of experience in a high-performing in-house creative team or agency setting, with a strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-completion design work across mediums. • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro. • Demonstrated experience using Generative AI in production design workflows. • Working knowledge of copyright, licensing, and brand safety considerations for AI-assisted image creation and editing. • Deep understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy for both print and digital applications. • Understanding of marketing principles and brand storytelling. • Strong organizational, time-management, and project coordination skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working cross-functionally in a remote environment. • Customer service orientation and ability to support internal stakeholders with a collaborative mindset. • Passion for innovation and design trends; curiosity about how technology can elevate creativity. • A dedicated remote work area that is quiet enough for employees to concentrate is required.
