ABOUT THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS TEAM Our Public Affairs team brings a unique campaign-style approach to strategic communications. ABOUT THIS ROLE BerlinRosen is seeking an Account Director, Research to join our Public Affairs team. This role will focus on driving a variety of strategic communications through BerlinRosen's competitive research practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about issues including land use and urban planning, social issues, housing, sustainability, economic development and health care. The person best suited for this role will have excellent writing and organizational skills,experience in strategic communications, journalism, political campaigns, and/or government. Role location: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The Cities team is in-office at least 3 days per week. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS As an Account Director on our Public Affairs team, you will... • Deliver high-quality research products, including competitive research, professional vetting, and political/issue landscape analysis • Provide strategic guidance on identifying opportunities to proactively address policy actions • Collaborate with internal teams to support client needs, including self-research to identify vulnerabilities or risks • Offer expertise in vetting and fact-checking for major announcements, appointments, and campaigns • Conduct issue landscape analyses and legislative/regulatory risk assessments to identify challenges and opportunities for clients • Help clients prepare for potential Congressional investigations or administrative actions (e.g., Trump-related policy shifts) • Contribute to business development and growth efforts Essential skills: • Relevant experience at a senior level in competitive and/or strategic communications and research from working in politics, government or advocacy or with a PR agency, media outlet or in-house communications team • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills • Expertise in legislative/regulatory risk analysis and competitive research • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Collaborative mindset with experience working across multidisciplinary teams. • Commitment to delivering high-quality, actionable insights WORKING AT BERLINROSEN Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $125,000 annually (prorated)
