Description Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson's Mission: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson offers our young people a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves, dedicated adult mentors who respect and listen to them, and outcome-based programs that empower youth to become lifelong learners. POSITON SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator, under the supervision of the Development Manager, oversees BGCCs volunteer and internship programs, staffs events, and executes resource development strategies. This role requires the ability to apply sound judgement and provide customer-centered service when interacting with colleagues, committees, vendors, donors, and volunteers. KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): Volunteer and Internship Management (50%) Recruitment Implement resource development strategies to recruit volunteers for programs and other activities as needed. Fill all volunteer positions required to meet program/grant requirements. Expand volunteer base through web-based promotions, college and university outreach, and community outreach. Build and maintain new and existing community partnerships, including local colleges and universities. Coordinate volunteer teams for office projects, program support, special events, community outreach efforts, and facility maintenance. Onboarding Interview prospective volunteers/interns and match their talents with organizational needs. Process, organize, and maintain volunteer/intern paperwork. Collaborate with other staff to organize regular volunteer training as needed. Develop and deliver a robust volunteer orientation. Maintain updated SOPs. Volunteer Tracking and Stewardship Develop and manage volunteer/internship recognition program. Update records and volunteer tracking in CRM. Maintain the volunteer database and work to integrate it with the donor database. Create and publish a quarterly volunteer newsletter in accordance with development strategies. Implement social media strategies to bolster volunteer efforts and recognition. Support the conversion of volunteers to donors. Marketing & Communications (20%) Manage the Marketing & Communications calendar. Contribute to the development of marketing strategies in collaboration with VP of Development & Marketing and Development Manager. Execute marketing strategies in partnership with the Development Manager. Events (20%) Collaborate with the Development Manager and Administrative Assistant in staffing and executing events throughout the year. For Blue Door Bash, responsible for the solicitation of auction items and stewarding auction donors. Assist the Administrative Assistant with the development of the online event website, as needed. BGC Alumni Development (10%) Develop and implement activities to cultivate and steward alumni for the BGCC Alumni Program. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in special programs and events as required. Provide support to other programs as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related fields and a minimum of 2 years of specific experience in fundraising and donor management, including planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events. Experience in database management, or other fundraising/CRM system is required. Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Canva and a general comfort level with technology, including web sites and social networking. Experience with graphic design software for creating marketing materials and managing social media content visually. Example of design work will be required for final interview. Advanced verbal and written communication skills for crafting compelling outreach and marketing materials. A personal mission, vision and values that align with Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson. Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Bi-lingual is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member on a team. Ability to consistently work a twelve-month position, including evening and weekend work as required. Must have reliable transportation to all work-related activities including evening and weekend work. A valid California State Driver's License. ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS Tasks are regularly performed with moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, and temperature and noise extremes. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of standing for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (25lbs).
