Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Strategy - Financial & Economic Consulting to join our team remotely. Purpose Provides leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight for the Financial & Economic Consulting division. This role’s primary focus is strategic growth, including expansion of client relationships, development of new business opportunities, and advancement of service offerings, while ensuring high-quality project delivery and staff development. Applies advanced professional judgment to guide complex analyses, advise clients, and support long-term business objectives. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Provide strategic direction and vision for division expansion, establishing Bowman as a national leader in Financial & Economic Consulting innovation. Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and client-focused delivery across multidisciplinary teams. Receive broad guidance from executive leadership regarding strategic growth objectives, market priorities, and policy considerations. Translate firm and practice strategies into actionable growth plans, client initiatives, and service development efforts. Lead, mentor, and develop consultants and analysts; provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development guidance. Provide oversight and review of technical work products to ensure quality, defensibility, and consistency with industry standards. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering clear, actionable financial, economic and policy guidance. At the Operational and Company Level Own and grow assigned client relationships, with accountability for expanding scope, cross-selling services, and increasing backlog. Lead and significantly contribute to business development efforts, including opportunity identification, proposal strategy, pricing, interviews, and client presentations. Identify emerging market needs, regulatory trends, and client challenges to inform development of new or enhanced service offerings. Collaborate with Directors and firm leadership to support strategic initiatives, market positioning, and integrated service delivery. Represent the firm in client-facing, industry, and professional settings to enhance visibility and credibility. Do the Work Provide strategic oversight of financial and economic analysis. Direct and review complex analyses to ensure technical rigor, policy relevance, and alignment with client objectives. Evaluate alternative financial scenarios, assumptions, and strategies; advise clients on risks, trade-offs, and long-term implications. Lead preparation and delivery of client-ready memoranda, reports, and presentations. Present findings to executive leadership, governing boards, councils, and other key stakeholders. Ensure quality control, consistency, and risk management across project deliverables. Oversee project administration, including staffing plans, scheduling, and coordination with billing and project controls. Delegate work effectively and mentor staff to support efficient delivery, professional growth, and future leadership readiness. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field required; master’s degree preferred. Ten or more (10+) years of progressively responsible experience in financial and economic consulting, utility rate studies, or public sector financial analysis. Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, project leadership, and staff supervision. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong expertise in Excel-based financial modeling; familiarity with specialized rate or financial modeling tools preferred. Range $165,000 - $205,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
