It is an opportunity to be part of a diverse and engaged community of professionals, to be treated as a respected and valued member of a motivated team and to be empowered to do exceptional work that advances the best interest of everyone involved. We recognize the importance of creating a work environment that is both rewarding to our employees and supportive of our unwavering commitment to provide unparalleled service to our clients. Purpose Bowman is launching a dedicated growth initiative to deliver digitaltwin, asset condition scanning and infrastructure solutions to U.S. ports and terminals. The Vice President, Ports & Marine Growth will be at the forefront of that initiative — leveraging their executive experience and extensive relationships in the maritime sector to open doors, formulate and close key cluster engagements, and build a national growth platform. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction • Develop and execute Bowman’s 2030 Ports and Harbors Division growth strategy, with an emphasis on digital twin technology and infrastructure services. • Provide strategic direction and vision for division expansion, establishing Bowman as a national leader in ports and harbors innovation. • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and client-focused delivery across multidisciplinary teams. At the Operational and Company Level • Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with port authorities, terminal operators, agencies, and industry associations (including AAPA and state port councils). • Lead business development initiatives such as pilot projects, multi-port collaborations, and strategic partnerships to expand Bowman’s market footprint. • Coordinate closely with delivery, operations, and data processing teams to ensure alignment between strategic commitments and project execution. • Represent Bowman at major industry events and conferences, increasing visibility and thought leadership within the ports and harbors sector. Do the Work • Oversee and guide high-impact client engagements, ensuring delivery excellence, operational efficiency, and sustained client satisfaction. • Drive Louisiana and Gulf Coast market expansion as the foundation for a national rollout of Bowman’s Ports and Harbors services. Success Metrics and Competencies • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners. • Highly motivated and problem-solving attitude. • Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality. • Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction. • Strong marketing/business development skills and mindset. • Commitment to driving profitability and growth. • Commitment to becoming a “citizen” of the broader organization, breaking down barriers and silos. • Basic understanding of financial reports and metrics. • Signed pilot and cluster contracts with ports and terminals. • Revenue contribution and growth in the ports vertical. • Strategic logo acquisitions (tier1 ports or terminals). • Executivelevel visibility — speaking slots, panels, and sponsorships achieved. • Client satisfaction and delivery outcomes meeting agreed KPIs. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, maritime engineering or related discipline. • Fifteen or more (15+) years of relevant experience with at least 7 years of experience in a leadership/management role. • Seasoned port and maritime executive. • Deep industry relationships across Gulf and national ports, trade groups, and government agencies. • Proven track record in economic development, capital project leadership, and publicprivate collaboration. • Excellent communicator, negotiator, and brand ambassador for maritime initiatives.
