Position Title: Purchasing and Planning Specialist The Purchasing and Planning Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production operations by overseeing material procurement, inventory planning, and supplier relationships. This position involves collaboration with engineering, accounting, and production teams to synchronize material availability with production schedules and cost objectives. The specialist must effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong organizational and analytical skills. A proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving is essential for success in this role. The position requires a strong ability to communicate and collaborate across various teams to achieve operational goals. Purchasing And Planning Specialist Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end materials and components purchasing to ensure timely delivery for production needs • Oversee inventory management, including cycle counting and audits, to maintain accurate inventory records • Collaborate with engineering to create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support production scheduling • Manage vendor quoting and negotiations, fostering strong supplier partnerships while seeking cost optimization • Work with internal teams to align material supply with shop floor demand and support project engineers Purchasing And Planning Specialist Requirements • 3+ years of proven experience in purchasing, inventory, planning, and supply chain management • Experience managing the full purchasing cycle from RFQ to PO, delivery, and reconciliation • Experience with cycle counts and physical inventory audits • Experience working with engineering or manufacturing teams to update BOM changes • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities • Familiarity with ERP systems, such as QuickBooks, and inventory control processes • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and work collaboratively across teams • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement • Experience with Kanban systems is preferred • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or Business Administration is preferred Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with partial company coverage • 401K plan with a 4% match after one year • Three weeks of paid time off, including vacation and sick time • Winter break shutdown from Christmas to New Year • Company-provided computer If you are a Purchasing and Planning Specialist looking to take the next step in your career, apply now!
