Summary of the role The Senior Manager of FP&A and Strategic Finance is responsible for driving Boulder Care’s financial planning, forecasting, and analysis processes to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This highly visible role partners directly with executive leadership and department heads to develop strategic insights, optimize resource allocation, and guide long-term financial planning. Financial Planning and Forecasting (50%) Partner with the SVP, Head of Finance to manage the company’s annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Build and maintain robust financial models and performance dashboards to track KPIs and operational metrics. Establish and maintain a structured quarterly budget review process with department leaders to track spending, identify variances, and inform resource planning. Build and enhance financial models to support forecasting and scenario analysis. Prepare regular financial reporting packages for leadership and the Board, highlighting trends, key metrics, and actionable insights. Strategic Finance and Collaborative Decision-making Support (30%) Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Senior Leadership Team and department leads on key business decisions and resource allocation. Provide actionable insights through analysis of operating performance, growth initiatives, and new markets. Develop scenario models and business cases to evaluate strategic opportunities, such as new partnerships, pricing changes, or service expansions. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate financial data into clear, operationally relevant insights that guide decision-making. Support Board and investor materials, helping communicate Boulder Care’s financial story with clarity and impact. Lead or support special projects that advance organizational priorities, such as optimizing margins, enhancing data visibility, or evaluating new business opportunities. Process Excellence & Finance Systems Innovation (20%) Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting cadence, and data accuracy to support scalability as Boulder grows. Embrace and help shape a modern, AI-enabled finance tech stack — moving beyond traditional tools to implement smarter, more integrated solutions for forecasting, analysis, and reporting. Partner with internal teams and vendors to evaluate and deploy new technologies that enhance automation, data quality, and decision-making. Bring a proactive, builder mindset — comfortable experimenting, iterating, and helping define the “new normal” for finance operations. Maintain high standards of organization and documentation to ensure consistency and clarity in financial workflows. Qualifications 6–8 years of relevant experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or private equity. Strong analytical and modeling skills, with experience using Excel and financial planning tools. Demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for leadership. Experience in healthcare or a high-growth startup environment strongly preferred. Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across functions. Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent change and competing priorities. A self-starter who is highly motivated, resourceful, and able to operate independently with sound judgment. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical teams. Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. Familiarity with the substance use disorder (SUD) space. Familiarity with revenue cycle operations and healthcare unit economics. Prior experience supporting venture-backed companies. Supervisory Responsibility While this position does not presently include direct reports, it may expand to include oversight of other team members as organizational needs evolve. Work Environment This job operates in an office or remote environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; must be able to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time role, generally expected to be 40 hours per week. Team members may work with their managers to adjust work hours to suit the needs of the position. Team members may be asked to work additional days as work demands require.
