About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager (Controller-Level) to lead month-end close and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple client engagements. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, high-quality accounting processes, and consistent adherence to GAAP. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting - Own the month-end close process for multiple clients on both cash and accrual basis. - Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financials. - Review all reconciliations (bank, credit card, AP/AR, payroll, accruals). - Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and amortization. - Deliver close packages with variance analysis and insights. Accounting Operations Oversight - Supervise bookkeeping staff handling AP, AR, payroll, and daily accounting. - Oversee AP workflows using Ramp, Expensify, and QBO bill pay tools. - Manage payroll processing through Gusto. - Maintain and troubleshoot GL interfaces: Ramp ↔ QuickBooks and Gusto ↔ QuickBooks. - Improve workflows, controls, and standard operating procedures. - Support onboarding including COA setup and system mapping. Client Management & Communication - Serve as primary accounting contact. - Provide insights and operational guidance. - Coordinate with tax, audit, and CFO teams. - Manage multiple clients and maintain service quality. Systems & Tools - QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop. - Ramp, Gusto (with GL integrations). - Financial Cents. - Expensify. - Advanced Excel/Google Sheets. Required Qualifications - 5+ years progressive accounting experience. - Controller-level or senior accounting operations experience. - Multi-client accounting environment experience. - Strong GAAP knowledge and cash/accrual expertise. - Hands-on experience with QBO, QBD, Ramp, Gusto. - Strong communication and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications - Healthcare or professional services accounting experience. - Familiarity with Expensify, Financial Cents. - Experience with job costing, revenue recognition, multi-entity accounting.
