We’re searching for a seasoned, consultative sales professional who’s ready for the next level of sales success. About this Position BoldtSmith Packaging Consultants is looking for an experienced, consultative salesperson that will be responsible for generating new business relationships and sales. This role is part of a team that discovers, qualifies and closes packaging engineering opportunities. Projects are related to client packaging and operational transformations and achieving logistics improvements. Client needs include shipping/handling damage reduction, cost savings for materials and labor, packaging optimization and improving sustainability. A successful selling background and strong business acumen is critical to success. Position Requirements: • Minimum of 8 years’ selling experience, preferably in B2B, solution services and/or in the packaging industry • Proven track record of sales generation. Ability to professionally facilitate all parts of the sales process, possess strong qualification skills and enable client decision-making for high-value solutions • Demonstrated experience with penetrating larger, strategic accounts. Capable of developing close relationships and communicating with executives, functional and department leaders and floor operators – all levels of a client organization. • Ability to communicate a sophisticated value proposition. Working knowledge that includes packaging, operations, logistics, distribution and supply chain functions of larger strategic accounts. Desirable Attributes: Consulting-type background, experience with selling intangibles or services that provide customized solutions and deliverables. Capable of developing business case models, working with client metrics, delivering measurable ROI. Assist with developing sales strategy and execution of a unique value proposition that delivers problem-solving and positive client ROI Sales Expectations • Prospect, initiate and create relationships that lead to organic growth with new clients • Hunt for new target customers and market segments to drive increased sales • 30% domestic travel is expected • Travel to client sites to conduct assessments and on-site evaluations, identify packaging improvement opportunities • Execute the sales process to secure new clients • Utilize CRM management tools and processes. Ability to maintain a pipeline and manage numerous sales opportunities. Build and manage an extensive contact network. • Generate, present, follow-up, and close new business proposals. Follow established methodologies to create custom approaches for generating unique client solutions. • Ensure successful project transition to engineering resources by following hand-off procedures when new contracts and projects are initiated. • Stay engaged with engineering projects with existing clients as necessary to ensure customer expectations are met and account growth opportunities are secured Compensation: Compensation: Variable, based on experience Base salary plus performance-based commissions and bonuses.
