Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Lead Project Management Specialist to join our Precision Engagement Systems (PES, formally Weapons), team in Saint Charles, Missouri. Precision Engagement Systems (PES, formally Weapons), within BDS’s Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems division is seeking to hire a Program Management Specialist (Level 4/5). The selected candidate will serve as a part of the Direct Attack Program Office supporting B61, HAAWC and MOP Programs. Key areas of responsibility include managing and driving integration across production and development programs. Skills required for this position include an understanding of project management, the ability to demonstrate the aptitude to work across functions and having strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Include: • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Lean activities to PES Leadership. • Leads process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing execution. • Works with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to drive integration, continuous improvement, and efficiencies through the lifecycle of multiple program platforms. • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners. • Manage, develop, and motivate employees to combine the team’s energy and expertise to achieve a common objective and attain higher levels of performance. Position Responsibilities – Senior Level 4: • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case • Develops and establishes lead time requirements • Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion • Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies Position Responsibilities – Lead Level 5: • Oversees, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for highly complex or difficult projects, programs and change driven activities to execute in accordance with project management industry standards • Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case • Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules • Consults and recommends integrated planning, scheduling, change and baseline management, processes, techniques and tools to management considered to be best practices across the industry • Recognized as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives • Authorizes commitment of resources by obtaining approvals from stakeholders • Oversees deployment of approved recommendations at Division, Business Unit, and/or Enterprise levels This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position is for 1st shift. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor’s degree or higher • More than 3 years of experience managing projects or programs • More than 5 years of experience in change management, program planning, project management, integrated scheduling, Industrial Engineering or Business Operations • More than 5 years of experience with critical business and financial acumen including risk, issue, and opportunity management to drive performance Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • More than 1 year of experience working with cross functional teams Typical Education/Experience: Senior Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc. Lead Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Travel: Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
