The Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Customer Support organization is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead personnel performing Maintenance Engineering functions within multiple Engineering/Technical disciplines. This position is located in beautiful Seal Beach, California. Maintenance Engineering consists of a diverse work statement comprised of experienced engineering and technical experts on airplane maintenance, certification, and support equipment design. Specifically, this role will lead either a Structural Repair Engineering team or the Maintenance and Ground Operations Systems Requirements team. A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, their people, and innovation. The Structural Repair Engineering team is responsible for publishing the Structural Repair Manual and other types of approved repair data. The Maintenance and Ground Operations System Requirements team develops the requirements for Ground Support Equipment for new and in-service airplane models, as well as supports airplane recovery and new customers developing ground support capability. Position Responsibilities: • Manages employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines. • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. • Manages, develops and motivates employees. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science • 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams • 3+ years of experience working with internal or external stakeholders (e.g. business partners, airline customers, finance, external suppliers, etc.) • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion • Ability to travel 10% of the time Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • 2+ years experience leading engineering design teams or teams developing complex repair plans • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges. • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement. • Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments. • Excellent program management skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
