Lead Supplier Quality Engineer Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Supplier Quality team located in Berkeley, MO! This position position will be responsible for providing Subject matter expert-level support in Supplier Quality processes and procedures, product design life cycle, Procurement Processes, USG Contracting and Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP). This candidate will develop Quality-planning documents supporting programs in all phases of maturity. Develop Supplier Quality strategy to support programs in all phases of development and execution Leads team with integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals, program processes and documentation. Provides interpretation of complex requirements. Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities. Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Executes the above where candidate may be sole SQE supporting program Develops and implements corrective actions. Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under minimal direction. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Position Responsibilities: Develops strategies and planning of how Supplier Quality will support Phantom Works programs, including APQP, Manufacturing readiness (AS6500), Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP) Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Supports programs hands on as needed Supports Supplier Implementation and Execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Provides interpretation of complex requirements. Supports Supplier development activities and leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements related to Mission Systems and Sub-System, then supports maturation of those systems into qualified production readiness. Implements and leads early quality involvement strategy for suppliers Implements and leads early quality involvement strategy for new programs Assists in the performance of Functional and Physical Configuration Audits as well as First Article Inspection Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities. Develops strategies to identify and mitigate risk in supply base Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Develops and implements corrective actions. Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under minimal direction. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): More than 10 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management More than 5 years of experience leading or managing Corrective Actions or Root Cause Analysis More than 3 years of experience directly interfacing with suppliers More than 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, physics or chemistry Experience in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations Experience presenting to senior leadership Experience in leading and/or coaching teams Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
