Fluid Systems Standards Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Fluid System Standards organization is seeking a highly motivated Fluid Systems Standards Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) in Renton, WA. We are seeking a dedicated Fluid Standards Engineer to serve as the standards custodian for our airplane systems. In this pivotal role, you will oversee standard parts and process specifications related to metal forming and low-pressure systems. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing emergent production issues, collaborating with both internal and external parts manufacturers, and ensuring seamless airplane build-up. You will engage in engineering design releases, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and spearhead design improvements. Daily coordination with engineering support groups, suppliers, liaison engineering, customer engineering, and factory mechanics will be essential to your success. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for custodianship of the requirements for fluid systems components and processes, (i.e. Tubing, hoses, reconnectable & permanent fittings, clamps, seals, valves, couplings, metallic & non-metallic ducts and also the installation related requirements). Responsible for resolving emergent design, production, Supplier & In-Service related issues. Participates in Industry level committees & the development of new projects & initiatives. SAE International is the main organization we are active participants. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve technical and business improvement goals. Participates in assessing and improving organizational business processes related to; production engagement, manufacturer qualification for parts and processes, hardware usage and application control, and technical requirements management. Proactively search for and capture cost reduction/avoidance opportunities. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Work Authorization: This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Renton, WA. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) 1+ years of experience in structural, mechanical, or aeronautical engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing and developing technical requirements documentation. Experience with aircraft standards commodities (i.e. Tubing, hoses, reconnectable & permanent fittings, clamps, seals, valves, couplings, metallic & non-metallic ducts). Experience with fabrication and installation processes, i.e. material joining (swaging, welding), ducting & tubing forming. Experience with airplane fluid systems and system design, i.e. Mechanical Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Propulsion Systems, Water/Waste, Oxygen, and/or Environmental Control Systems. Lean 6-Sigma Training or lean manufacturing training is desirable Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA), problem solving & laboratory testing Strong project management skills, ability to manage schedules & resources to ensure on time completion of projects. Good perspective and enthusiasm for creating highly collaborative working relationships and team building. Union: This is a union-represented position. Summary Pay Range: Associate (Level 2): $89,250 - $120,750 Experienced (Level 3): $105,400 - $142,600 Senior (Level 4): $129,200 - $174,800 Additional Information: All information provided will be checked and may be verified.
